I don’t know
A thread about clutches and fuel lights ends up with ‘How can I keep my Tiger nice and shiny!!’
You know my views on cleaning but I have a question about the Scotoiler 365. The name suggests that it protects 365 days, as this is a leap year what day will it not protect the bike and how dos it know?

Clutches
When I got my bike the clutch was a bit stiff, I noticed that the engine end of the cable was twisted a bit. Slacken off the lock nuts and pull the clutch in a few times to straighten everything out and then tighten the nuts up without twisting the cable and she is done. Levers can be swaped but the stock hand guards may get in the way. I have changed both brake and clutch to adjustable types but had to change the guards as well. Have a look in the Tiger album (link above at the top and my own album link at bottom of this post)

Fuel light comes on when the gauge has hit rock bottom. They do tend to settle down after a while, I think that standing empty in the dealers makes them a little sticky at first but the senders are a common weakness in all of the Triumph range.

I don’t know what you have bought the tiger for BFJ but I would recommend that the first thing to do would be get both headlights working and get a centre stand. Then it is up to you. Enjoy it

Robbie,

your'e just showing off because you have got your central heating back!

I've just read the small print on the back of the bottle....it says 'Do not take you bike out on Feb 29th or it will get crappy'. Rest of the year fine, just not that day!

J,
spray it everywhere , engine, frame, coloured bits... just not the brake pads or discs. It simply washes of with a bucket of bubbles and a sponge. Or if you are really minted, a pressure washer with some detergent in it.

If you see it drying off completely, just spray some more on!, simple as that really

Far be it for me to contradict you Jim, but I never use detergents on any of my vehicles, because most of them contain salt and I also never use hot/warm water when washing in the winter. The warmer the water the more it dissolves the salt picked up from the roads, which then runs into areas you can't easilly get to. Better to use cold water as it just rinses every thing off in a more solid state.

Davie,

The detergent i was talking about for the pressure washers is that special automotive cleaner that has no salt in it, unlike fairy liquid which is full of it!
I generally use 'Muc off' or something like that, and a bucket of water etc.

Re-the brass monkey ride....i think it lived up to it's name alright! Although those that made it had a great day. Next time hopefully?
