Hi all

Well it finaly happend i droped my tiger today (In my front garden) should have got up when the alarm went off

i think i was a bit lucky as not much damage done, dent in the exhaust, chip out of the faring.bent mirror, and a verry bashed lower leg. The only realy bad bit was i had to get help to right the bike from my son who i last night told he should ride his bike more carefully as i just spent £200 on bits for his after he droped it. Just shows not to forget how top heavy they are and be more awake in future

You are now fully initiated as a Tiger rider  .
If we are honest, we have all done this at some stage or another. Nearly always at slow speeds or at a stop, it just gets to that point where you can;t hold it and .....over you go.

Don't want to rub it in but did you have crash bars fitted ? I have dropped my current Tiger three times now and with the crash bars fitted, the worst damasge i have suffered has been a scratched rear footrest and scratched paint on the crash bars and a scuff on the bar end weight.

Glad you are ok though, and your pride will heal in time, after you have eaten a large quantity of humble pie...supervised by your son :-D

No crash bars as yet(i think i was lucky this time) looking at some at my dealer this week end.

The only micky takeing my son has said is "At leat i get half way to work before i fell off"
I have also noticed that it has bent rear brake leaver in a bit and hope that the shop can bend it back a little.

As they say live and learn

It is a right of passage with us tiger owners. Once you drop it you become very aware that she can go down easy due to being top heavy. At least you did not pop your hamstring like I did when mine went down.

Yep, happened to me too just the other day. Still limping from stupidly getting my foot caught under the thing (toes aren't designed to bend that far back!).

Still, a lesson learnt I'd say in how heavy they are when they start to go. I should have let it go earlier and probably I wouldn't have squished me foot.

Damage wise, not a lot. The Touratech bars did their job (though I did have to do a small respray on them) and no damage to levers or handles or mirrors, but did scuff the pannier. A bit of t-cut later and that was sorted too.

Have to confess it happened to me too after only owning the bike for 5 days - got a bit cocky and tried a feet up full lock turn - in the local Waitrose car park of all places! A little bit of adverse camber and slight hesitation on my part and down I went. Damage limited to footrest where the hero blob tore the end off the cast alloy - got another from ebay - and a couple of scuffs on the handlebar end.

The advantage of the location (apart from the appreciative audience) was the availability of help to right the thing. As it had gone down the camber there was no way I could have got it up again on my own.

I dropped my first tiger the day after I got it, whilst getting it out of the shed :-D

Lesson learned....

The other time involved a London Bus and was much more spectacular...

Check it out.

after a small tip over i found that the brake pivot bolt was slightly bent and not allowing the brake to return compleatly.

this led to a very big bum clenching moment later on.

if you think dropping the bike infront of your son is embarising try doing it with 20 other tiger riders watching
