I know this has be touched upon on other threads, but can anyone recommed anywhere that does these and give a guide price?

I have been using foam Max-lite ones for a few years, while i find them very good i am wondering about the benfits of custom made ones, particularly as i am thinking of investing in a autocomm system.

Your thoughts...............?

Alan, I have ultimate ear ones they are brilliant very comfortable and the speakers built in are great for tghe Ipod, Autocom & GPS, they cost about £140 but to be honest it sounds expensive but IMOP it's worth every penny, plus if yo0u get them get the volume control as well its an extra £25 quid but worth it as you can turn down your music or Autocom on the move.

Plus mention you saw the Ad on UKGSER.com its the BM GS site if you are a member you get 10% off, as far as I know its still valid.

Good luck

I put a posting up on another thread about custom ear plugs, both my wife and i have used Max plugs for years, both had a custom set of plugs made fitted great but as soon as you've been rideing for a mile or two they come loose, were talking fractions here!! and had another pair made and found them the same, they are ideal at work without the buffeting of the wind, but on the bike found them very unsatisfactory and went back to useing Max foam plugs.

Wish I could remember the company that made mine, but sorry I can't.

Ocassionaly I notice some wind noise through the plugs but that's only because I've stuck them in in a hurry, if I take the time to make sure they are seated in properly then there is no obtrusive wind noise. And once in mine don't move.
Winger, stop chewing the baccy and yours might be ok.

The other good thing I like about them is they don't expand in the ear like foam ones, I tried wearing foam ones but always ended up with the insides of my ears sore.

I got mine at the NEC bike show last year, two pairs, one for me and the other for SWMBO and it was less than £100 for both, half price special for the show.

Normal conversation, mobile phone, GPS and music all heard clearly and that's without the atenuators.

I wouldn't be without my moulded plugs now. No more filthy rolling up with foam ones.
I got my first set about 3 years ago from "Headset services" at Shoreham airport Sussex.
I recently got a set with monitors from "Ultimate" and got a deal at the NEC show. I've now got a set for sleeping in.
The thing about moulded plugs is that they fit your ears exactly. They sit there and you cannot feel them so no soreness.
