commute everyday to work and I am looking for a pair of casual pants that I can wear even when it rains hard. I already bought myself a pair of Belstaff jeans that were advertised to be waterproof but the second time I wore them and it was raining hard I started to get wet. I saw Triumph makes the Waterproof Denim Jeans so I thought I'd post a thread on this forum to get some feedback. Has anyone used the Triumph the Waterproof Denim Jeans or 5 Pocket Waterproof Jeans? Are they really waterproof?

Thank you,

Nikolaos

I think that what you are looking for does not exist. I wear a pair of Tiger Angel waterproof leathers when riding long distances. I use waterproof overpants if it is raing hard and I am not touring. I bought a pair of very high quality ones from a camping shop. They are very tough, don't take up much space and are completely waterproof. They have short leg zips and just pull on over what I am wearing without having to remove shoes or boots.

I think that any pants that you could wear casually and are waterproof would cook you like a spud in a vegetable steamer!

I havent used the Triumph waterproof jeans but would guess they are more likely showerproof.

Agree with Timtiger - I use Helly Hansen unlined PVC yachting overtrousers with a big front bib and braces which stop the water getting up the front. Very light & tough. Although I'm having difficulty sourcing a replacement for mine which are 5 years old. Any ideas?

Bought a set of the Triumph waterproof trousers with bib last summer. unless the weather is really bad have had no problems and the armour seems good and is comfy, however on a recent trip to Switzerland and Italy where it pissed down so hard that you couls feel the rain through my boots I used an Alpinstar separate jacket and trousers that just slip over your leathers. Fantastic and not one leak, Jacket and trousers cost 70 quid.
