Will Triumph ever return the Tiger to being a "Big Trailie" ??
Hi All,
Hope you have all had a good year riding your Tigers
Do you think Triumph will ever return the Tiger to it's rightful place as a "Big Trailie" (for want of a better word), or have we lost it to a "road bike" forever ??

Sadly it is seemingly less likely as time goes on shame on you triumph.

I like my Tiger as it is, a Caspian Blue Green Eyed Pategonian Tree Frog road monster.

Personally don't think we will see another trailie tiger. I would love to be proved wrong.
Had an interesting talk at our last Ratpack meeting. A chassis engineer from Triumph gave us a lecture and slide show on the conception thru to finished product concerning the Rocket.
He wouldn't be drawn on which new model he was working on now. His last project was the Thunderbird and he finished work on that nearly 2 years ago.
Interestingly the dealers have had to sign something ( a secrecy code ) prior to going to a meeting to hear about the next new model launch. It can't be far off according to the dealer.
Most would like to see a 1000cc sportsbike. I would like to see an updated tourer aka Trophy style bike. Would I change ? Only had the 1050 a fortnight - no way.
Cheers JJ

It makes me wonder if Triumph realised that when they sold off the last of the 955's, at a relatively competitive price and fully loaded, they sold really quickly ??

There is something out there...
I drive around the UK on business, and I've twice seen a black bike that I don't recognise. The first time I saw it was when I was cruising down the M6 north of Manchester. It came past at a rate of knots, so I didn't get a really good look. It looks like a Tiger 1050 without any bodywork on, but it's not a street or speed triple. I saw it again the other day on the A57 near Lincoln. I was waiting at the Dunham bridge toll booth, and the bike came the other way. As I had the window open, I could clearly hear it was a triumph triple. Could it be an updated 1050 or a 675 tiger cub? Has anyone else seen it?

the good news,,,,,,,,,
You can still pick up great deals on the Girlie models that do quite well off road.....and on.....fuel injected fun.....or grab a Scrambler to play in the dirt.......
Sorry....trying to find silver lining.

Don't go building my hopes up like that
I bought one of the first modern Tigers, and I'm on to my fourth now, a '955.
I was truely gutted when Triumph changed the Tiger into a road bike. I felt cheated. A British guy staying loyal to a British brand
Time will tell !!

I heard at our last meeting that Triumph are upping their range from 18 bikes to 24 in the near future, our dealer guy would`nt be drawn on the models as he did`nt know himself(or so he said).
So maybe a new Tiger or a big sports we will have to wait and see.
