Tiger Vent Hose

Just removed the tank on my 96 Tiger to treat it to a K&N filter.

There is a vent hose (about 10 inches long) from the top of the carbs which is not attached to anything. My really helpful Haynes manual mentions it but does not give any clues as to what it should be attached to.

It is a european model so should not have any complicated emmision system.

Could someone kindly tell me what if anything this hose should connect to?

Cheers

carb vent

my 96 tiger didnt have the vent line(s).
it just had the carb (float bowl) vents open at the nipples. i put a lengthof clear plastic hose on each, running them up about 5". the purpose was to keep dirt and dust out of the carb float bowl chamber.
you will see where your hose connects to the carb.
the there should be another hose one carb over.
if not, you may wish to add one.
the carb float bowls have to be vented to atmosphere, (or airbox if intake is ram air fed) otherwise they would starve for air (pressure) and no fuel would make it thru the jet hole openings.
check out kevin camerons, sportbike tuning book if you want more info.
