Smile Info wanted!!! Please!!!

hi all,

I posted athread in the MODS section maybe it was the wrong place but as a new owner I was after soon feedback that would help purchase some items I want to change. What is the best aftermarket exhaust for the 855I? (blue flame or viper) whats the best enduro handguards? What are the best tyres for fast road work? (I am using trail wings at the mo they came with the bike and they are slipping all over the place)

The reason I am wanting to change the exhaust is that I am finding the 855i too smooth there is no growl ( I have only ridden big V Twins before) so would changing the exhaust help?

I am also finding the front quite light in corners that may be the tyres but is it worth changing the front fork springs to Wilbers etc and thicker oil.

Hopefully someone will have a few answers, I had only 2 replies in the MOD section...there must be some 855i owners out there

cheers Russ

Russ how long have you had the bike?

I still have my 82 Sturgis (shovelhead) and it took me some time to get used to anything else.

The first "other bike" was a 99 Speed Triple and it took a LOT of getting used to. I put a loud pipe on it the minute I got it, but by the end of the summer I'd get a headache from the constant drone at higher speeds so went back to stock.

When I got the Tiger a 2006 955i it was different again.

This time I waited until I had gotten used to the differences, to the point where so far all I have done is changed the screen to a MRA Vario and the pipe to a quite mild Triumph off road pipe and map. The rest is pretty much stock and I like it that way.

As for the light steering, changing fork springs and oil would only be a matter of personal preference. You could check the wear of the tyre and pressures as well.

One more thing. The Tiger forum is a bit quieter than the rest of the site. Perhaps because we're out riding more..... It can take a couple of days for a topic to get some decent responses, but if no one knows, know one knows. Most of us don't post if we don't.

Ride well,
Mick
