1050 Tiger Catalytic Converters?
I was at a Beemer Rally this past weekend -- Return to Shiloh in TN. There was one 1050 Tiger ABS there. The owner (from GA) has had it for two years, 60K miles. He is very happy with it. He also has a Triumph Trophy with 120+K miles on it but rides the Tiger as long as the weather allows.
He had lowered his muffler -- actually a Yoshimura (?) -- by connecting a pipe with two 90 degree bends to the lower exhaust pipe. His muffler was then horizontal and low enough so he could use a full size rear case on the right side of the bike. He said the left and right side cases are identical and could be interchanged.
When I asked if removal of the OEM muffler also removed the catalytic converters, he said he didn't think the 1050 Tiger had any converters.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but does the US version of the 1050 Tiger have catalytic converters and, if so, where is it (they) located?
