Well, I Bought One
My partner at work came in and told me the BMW dealer had a Tiger on trade-in. My wife had told me the same just the other day.
'02 with 36,000 miles. Billious Green. Full luggage, taller windscreen, electric grips.
I took it for a test ride, and brought it by the Triumph dealer. The guys were real nice about giving it a quick look over, and brainstorming it with me.
I bought it. Should pick it up tomorrow. Hideous color, but very comfortable ride. I'll have to shave the seat a bit, but one of the mechanics said there's more than enough to play with for a light guy like me.
Interesting contrast to my Sprint ST.

Congrats -welcome to the Tigers den! I don't know the 955's but do know that folks who have them swear by them at least as much as I do the 1050. On that basis I think you're gonna enjoy the new ride

Congratulations, medic! I'm sure you will enjoy the ride.
And that's not billious green, it's high-viz green... just a little insurance against our local drunk drivers!

Thanks Bruce, I just rode it home. Now I'm off to do errands.
I see the color working this way. A driver won't hit me because he'll see me, be so shocked and distracted by the color (and laughing too hard) that he'll swerve and hit another cager instead.
See ya around town!

I'll definitely be able to see you, Medic, but with my stealthy matte grey paint you may not see me!

It's FANTASTIC green, especially with the colour matched luggage !!
The only reason I ever thought of buying one.
We have a standing debate at work about the wearing of high vis jackets or not. I pulled up behind one of the nay sayers on mine, jacket on, headlights on and his comment was along the lines of 'you certainly are very obvious'.
When I asked if it was the bike, jacket or headlights, he said bike.
You've got the safest colour.

A warm welcome, Medic09. I too inhabit the Sprint forum . BTW I have the much less extrovert British Racing Green Tiger.
Enjoy the new bike!
