got me a tiger-need a screen help!!
Thanks to all the guys that made me spend all my money on 1050.
I think the bike is excellent, Just came back from the essex air ambulance ride out, about 70 miles each way.
But unless i can get a screen to cut the noise down i can see me with hearing aids very soon.
Can any one reccommend one, im 5' 7&1/2" tall and my head hurts like hell even with plugs in.
Thanks again for any help
Ian

I am 5 10 and have a Givi touring screen. This dosn't work all the time as my head sticks up into the turbulance. This may not happen with a slightly shorter person. What it does do however is give me the option. At slower speeds its OK sitting up, at higher speeds I tuck down behind the screen. All is smooth and quiet.
By contrast I tried the dealer demonstrator with a Vario and spoiler. No matter where I tilted the spoiler this was not an improvement. Yes it was quieter, my head being in less turbulance however IT ducked the air at my chest. I got this cold patch and frankly touring or in bad weather I would have lost a serious amount of body heat.
The thing that I also found made a small amount of difference was the Triumph hand cowles. Not only did they protect the hands from wind and rain but they changed the profile of the bike and made some small but favourable difference to the air flow.
Good luck
Lil

Good Luck
Just changed the screen on my 1050. having read many threads and advice. I went my own way, and fitted Skidmarx Tall/Flip, did not do much for the wind noise but almost stopped the bufferting to a level I could live with.
I can know ride with my visor partly opened, without ill effects. I wear Nolan Flip Helmet which is not renowned for being quiet, so I would need to try try the screen with another helmet to determine if it's the screen/bike or brain bucket. A few searches on the subject on this site and you'll have more info than you need, and with no exact answer!
Good Hunting!

I use the windshield mounting kit from these guys with the stock screen, brilliant! works great low around town and high for when I tour.

I went with the Cee Baily windshield. Six inches higher and a little wider than the stock windshield. I like it. It cut down on noise and wind turbulence quite a bit. I cab hear the Tiger roar now. I'm happy with it.
I ride a 2008 1050i w/ ABS. I rode almost 8000 miles this summer and I am pleased with this shield.
