well shall i?

Just sold my fz1, been looking at tigers for a while, so should i get one?

new? secondhand? do like the look of the new se. maybe the finance company will go that far.

Owned loads of bike over the years and bought some that after a few weeks knew i made a mistake, dont wanna do it again.

My riding is a 40mile commute to london. weekends out with the better half on the back and the touring trip to south france once a year.

just need a bit of feedback please
Thanks all
Ian

The Tiger is one of the best "Do it all" bikes ever made. I ride with several Tiger owners and to a man they all LOVE the bike like no other one they had. No one is even thinking about selling the bike-and one guy and his wife I know went out for a ride and returned 5000 milkes later!

Talking Grinning Tiger

I have had other triumphs Sports/tourers and retro's but the Tiger has given me the biggest grin factor, two months later still grinning.
Also ridden many Rice Rockets but none compare to the Tiger IMHO.
Have a test ride and see for yourself. Works well in all situations, and two up no worries.
Er indoors is sold on the Top Box/Back rest combo as a pillion.

Go on you know you want to!

Biggest problem, there are so many different bikes, and in all honesty the day of the great alrounder vanished when the CB750 did!!,i've had my 955 Tiger 9 years next may,for trips to the SoF and long distance travel, there is nothing absolutely nothing better, but the early ones like mine didn't have good finishes on,and i do my fair share of travelling in and around London, and i wouldn't be keen to commute on one.

I admit my commute is not the same as London, however I ride my 1050 Tiger everyday in congestion, lane split and traffic filter without problems. I do appreciate being able to flat foot on the bike though.

Why are you messing around? Just do it!

3 weeks ago I sold an F800GS and bought a Tiger... the first 2010 Tiger SE sold in New Mexico. I've never been happier with a purchase. Superb handling, plenty of power, brakes are better than anything I've ridden before, and if I can keep my enthusiasm under control it even has decent fuel economy (currently hitting over 50 miles per US gal).

Best of all, the seat is comfortable! Which won't mean much to anyone who hasn't ridden an F800GS a long distance. And the low seat option was a great investment. It only adjusts seat height -0.2", but it adds a layer of gel that my aging tush really appreciates.

I thought I was going to have to give up riding the back roads around Santa Fe (many are dirt or gravel), but that's not the case. Imo there's adequate suspension travel for these roads, plus there's enough damping adjustments you can tweak it for pretty much anything you want to do.

Only 2 complaints: my insurance premium doubled going from the GS to the Tiger and you need long legs to flat-foot this bike. Couldn't do much about the insurance rates, but I solved the seat height issue with some lowering plates.

So go ahead and jump in... that water's fine!
