Sorry been letting my post slip. Sunday went for a little putt , Short story is a adult German Shepard flew out of a driveway smacked my front wheel with his middle of his body...it tucked front end in and I went down pretty hard,Helmet. Hit first...laid on the road for a minute or so. Air got knocked out of me, was able to get up .off toER mucho X-rays found nothing...I still left like a boot was lodged under my shoulder blade....go to my GP only to find #6 as broken with a gap of a 1/4 inch. So been missable at home. But was lucky my wife wasn't on it at the.
Has any one have a loved on the Pillion and get hurt semi bad...some broken bones and the they come to ride again after they healed? The safety for the pillon rider is allot of weight of responsibility to carry around. I get injured ....it's like ok but some else it would be tough, probably challenge me. Any thoughts out there
Sorry to hear about your off, Wforider. I've only laid a bike down once with my wife on, and neither of us were hurt at all. We were only going about 10-15 mph and a driver pulled out directly into us. But it left a lasting impression on me and like you, I feel much more liable when I have a pillion with me. It's just part of the whole experience when we ride I guess. I think that makes us more responsible and at least shows that we are more compassionate...
Hopes & prayers going up for quick & complete healing for you bro.
Thanks Jon, my earlier post above was partially fueled by Vicoden. Iam at week 4 on the healing of the back rib, still a major pain in the ass.. I had my share of get off's . Iam 62 now, I know i can handle the ordeal of healing bones but not sure of my pillion and pillion's family, Its a heavy weight, i will ride again, but i will have to think more of the Pillon. She loves to ride but I find it hard to believe she could handle a accident of any magitude.
This last accident came so far from left field i never saw it coming (On a two lane highway, 55mph posted,on coming lane was a Bicyclist and his pit bull trotting at his side, on approach i slow figure 25-30 mph and pull down to the right side of the lane, we pass each other and give each other a nod, as they pass i check and turn my head left to check to see if the dog loops around as dogs do...nope all is good, as i turn my head back and start to acellerate i see this brown blur from my right eye comes this grown German shepard full stride running and wraps himself around my front wheel, both go down in a instant. My fingers never left the handle bar.Shepard died at the scene.. Some dog owners?? , given this was a farm house and he probably thinks everything should run free but still nasty results all the way around.
Bike should be next week total repair $3300 and about $1500. in replacement of Nexx helmet, Bmw jacket, Wolfman new luggae, roland sands gloves etc.
Thanks again Jon for the reply and good wishes
