Hi doctaton.

Must admit I thought your thread would have raised more comment.
when I first read it I was well impressed. I read it again after my first post and fully realised just how much time and effort you put into this project. The quality of your photography is stunning.
when it warms up here I plan to check under my tank. That is the location of the alarm connector on the 1050. From memory they are the same and I can do this great mod on my bike.

Hi Doctation,

I am an infrequent visitor, but look for really useful stuff like this - so thanks for your trouble.
I have been in need of hazard lights on 2 occasions and figured there must be away to achieve this. Once repairing a flat on the side of a major highway and another when I was marking a fallen free across a road waiting for the State Emergency Services.

I'm going with method #2 right after this post.

Hello Doc,
I tried to simply run a jumper wire from terminals 7 and 8, for testing purposes, to insure that I had the correct terminals. Which should work, I am only eliminating the switch. In short, I get nothing. Any ideas?

Hi Syphoon!

What do you mean?

Did you hit the turning lights switch after making the jumper?

I believe you've connected terminals 7 & 8, and when you hit the turning lights switch, nothing happens, just regular turning lights. Is it so?

If so, it's more than likely that the jumper isn't contacting one or both terminals.

Redo the jumper. I'd advise you to unplug the alarm connector, and do the jumper connection directly to the female pins, making sure they properly connect. Once you do that, you'll realise that when you hit the turning light switch, 4 turning lights will flash.

I'm pretty sure I tried turning on the turn switch, but I might have had a brain fart. I will try again and report back.

Update: I'm not sure where I went wrong the first time, but tried again today and it worked! Now I just need to do a permanent install.
I noticed the switch you used looked almost factory. What brand is it?

One more update.
I was thinking that you would have to have the key on to use the flashers, but I found that if you turn the key to the parking light position, they will stay on! Excellente!
