You will find out that the screen is a big improvement over the stock one. I can ride now without ear plugs at 75 mph with any of my helmets.

Bought a Tiger on Thursday. Today, I installed the sump guard and the center stand... Engine guards weren't in stock, they should be here next week...

I'm going to order the DealerTool for the throttle sync. You mentioned you dont think the fuel adaptor hose was needed since there was enough length in the existing hose to make the connection to the removed tank so I'll give that a try. Did you need the extension cable T3880123? Any o-rings need replacing or did everything come apart cleanly?
I'm at 10500 miles so I have a few weeks before the 12K mark-any further info on your experience would be appreciated. Thanks
Damn - I apologise, I only just noticed your question. No doubt you have answered your question yourself by now, but for completeness, I do use the extension cable. I like to set the gas tank up next to the bike, and to do that you need the extension cable, but not the extension hose.

However, it is possible to set the tank up on the bike, and adjust the balance screws by lifting the tank slightly, and then you do not need either the extension hose or cable.

But I have the cable now, so I set the tank up off the bike, which certainly makes balancing the TB's a breeze.

I have done the 12K service twice now, and I have replaced all the cam cover bolt seals and the cam cover seals both times. I think I could have reused the cam cover seal, but the bolt seals tend to get permanently deformed, and are worth replacing. Otherwise, no other rubber O rings or seals have been replaced.

Prop, this spring upgrade you mentioned, is that a recall? Mine is a 2012, and seems to shift great. Especially compared to my /6 and /7! I don't especially want them pawing around inside my bottom end unless absolutely necessary.

No worries Prop. I completed the 12K service without problems. Fortunately I found all the valve clearances within spec so saved myself the trouble of pulling the cams. The Dealer Tool work well for TBS. Similar to an FJR I owned I found I could prop the fuel tank up at the rear with a short 2x4 and use existing fuel connections during the TBS adjustment.

It's not a recall as such, it's a factory covered upgrade. Triumph are not issuing notices for this upgrade. The best way to check if it is applicable is to ask your dealer. They can run your VIN number and find out. However, if yours is a 2012, I think the chances are that this upgrade will not apply - meaning you already have the newer version spring. You can always check with your dealer - you do not HAVE to have the work done. It is not a safety recall, and not having it done won't affect the warranty or anything.

Ok, thanks Prop, that's a relief to hear.
So far, the Tiger is about the nicest bike I've owned. Just turned 10,000 miles since Apr, not one issue. It's been as low as 28 degrees commuting to work, the heated grips are worth their weight in gold. Can't wait for Spring.
