Tiger 800 suspension improvements

Just running in my new road 800. The bike is fine on smooth roads but on poor surfaces the handling is not planted. I'm putting this down to the budget suspension. Maxton are close to me and I know they can sort me out, albeit at a price approaching 1000. Any other ideas ?

There's a lot of options here in the states but I don't know about the UK. I'm sure there must be some cheaper options but I can guarantee the Maxton stuff would be very fine. Here in the states a cheaper option would be to take it to a race suspension specialist and have them revalve the suspension and spring it to fit your weight.

What are the options in the states? I was thinking about possibly getting the front fork re-worked, but haven't found suitable vendor yet. I'm in the SF Bay Area.

Doing it yourself or want someone to do it? If you want someone to do it will you remove the forks and ship them or need to be able to take the bike to them?

I'd hate putting the bike out of running condition for more than a day or two ... It would be nice if I could do something either myself (never done that before) or have a place to nearby.

Well you are in luck. In the Bay area you have one of the best motorcycle suspension tuners on the west coast. Catalyst Reaction.

Know of a good suspension tuner in the Fort Collins area, like maybe these guys http://www.stmsuspension.com/ ?

@ CUG, Did you ever sell the Hattech exhaust for the GS?

Sorry no. I don't know anything about STM and I'm not familiar with any tuners in that area of the country.
