Just got a new 1200 with 3000 miles on it runs fantastic love it!

Noticed when it is ticking over when warm there is a ticking noise from the engine. On another forum somebody suggested most of them do it and suggested cam chain somebody else seemed sure it was the fuel injection relay more likely as a few seem to do it. Has anybody got any ideas?

Not quite sure what you mean by "ticking over" but when starting the engine on my EXP and it is warm there is indeed a ticking noise gpt s few minutes. I asked the dealer about this, while he (sales manager) did not have an explanation for the noise, he said it is normal and all of the Explorers do this. On my bike the noise disappears rather quickly.

I doubt if there's anything wrong,
I have heard that on new Triumph bikes, the tappets / valve adjustment are set slightly lose on manufacture to allow them to bed in, Tappets get tighter over miles done,

Also could be Injectors, they can sound tappety when the engine is warm on lean fuel,

If in doubt and for peace of mind, let your triumph dealer have a look over the bike, Its still under warranty,
