K&N got back to me after almost a month. The girl answering was very nice and offered me another filter. Don't think I'll take her up on it.

They had no interest in getting it back for inspection? Take the filter and sell it to me for cheap!

I had one leak on the Street Triple, the gasket tore. I've been changing oil for over 40 years, so I know its not me.

Been using k&n oil filter for some time now. Just recently I noticed a moist of oil around the oil filter, so I guess its either the seal or a faulty oil filter.

There has been many failures of K&N oil filters with leaks from those spot welds, do a google search, it's a huge problem that started after they changed their manufacturing source to third world.
I use Triumph or Mahle oil filters.

Back to back K&N Oil Filter failures

I had back to back failures. (Note: I had no choice to purchase the second one as I was in the middle of nowhere and it was the only one available to get me back on the road.)

Bike was dropped on the first indecent, the second the bike was run dry of oil.

Anyone run across this site: http://www.oilfilterfailure.com

Not a happy camper over here.

Did you/are you going after K&N to make good on their warranty? We've had a case of a Bonneville seized due to weld failure...they coughed up and paid for replacement engine, so they do honour it.

You'd think they'd make serious changes to the design/build quality on these as soon as they started hearing of failures....it's gonna kill their rep for future products and could land them with a legal issue should there be a serious injury/death.

We'll see about the engine? They are most certainly not holding up such on the bike damage.
