I live in Parker CO ,USA. I ride a 2008, 1050.

The seat is so uncomfortable, after 100 miles or so my legs start to cramp up. It's mainly my inner thighs that loose all feeling. Nomatter how i try to position myself it makes no difference. I have tried these so called companies that sell "jell"seats but find that these are just built onto the same plastic base as the standard seats and do not improve the riding comfort. I love this bike and did a great 6500 mile ride in the summer which almost made me a cripple, it's going to be a big disapointment if i have to change it or sell it and just continue to ride my Honda ST1100 which is far more comfortable. Any other riders of the 1050 with this problem who have found a solution?

I see no reason to sell a bike you like otherwise over a seat. As mentioned, Russell, I had mine done by Rick Mayer. Many different possible solutions.

Thanks for the replies, the question is, am i missing something?, or am i to assume that Russell Day Long is a manufacturer?, and JoeS suggests Rick Mayer, another manufacturer?, Brendaggi suggests Corbin, which i have looked at and these seem to be a recovered standard seat base, am i right in assuming that?.

I have tried a Corbin on my ST1100 borrowed from another ST rider and most ST riders swear by them to be the bestist, i wasn't impressed at all, the seat kinda fixed me in a set position so i'm back to the original on the ST. And dont i dont want to give the impression that i'm only a short mile day rider because i'm 73 yrs old, i'm used to 500+ a day, thats why i need to get the 1050 seat problem solved.Thanks for the help.

Just been on the net and found Russell Day and Rick Mayer who i will be getting in touch with. To be honest i never heard of either company, thanks for the exellent info, i will post when things are sorted out.

The prices are on their website. It's the cheapest version they do for the 1050 with vinyl covering. It's great! I found a used seat on craigslist for $30 that was used for the build.

My advice is to skip all the other brands...corbin, sargent, etc...and go straight to the RDL. They cost a bit more, but you will never think about the seat again! Quality is top notch, and their customer service is great if you ever have any issues.

OP, I bought the factory tall saddle and I'm pleased with it. I needed more leg room and it's 40mm thicker.
