1050 Engine Flush

The spindle in my starter motor was shredded by the idler gear. When I took off the starter cover there were small metal shavings over all the interior surfaces. Replaced starter motor, no problem. What can I flush the engine with to get rid of excess metal shavings without harming interior parts.

I ordered a new idler gear and washers as well as the starter. Waiting on idler gear but can use old one for engine flush. It doesn't look worn but I can't be sure.

Hi, I personally would never use an engine flush, But as you have swarf contamnation you will need to try and clean out,
What about running a couple of oll changes, Maybe with a cheap brand to start with,

Magnetic oil plug is the ONLY thing that will eventually get rid of all that metal.
