Thunderbird Heated Grips - Relay Fault
One of the extras I purchased with my Thunderbird was heated grips. In four days, the battery would go flat. On further investigation, the bike had a draw of 140mA when the ignition was off. I also noted that when the ignition was off, removing and inserting the fuse for the heated grips/auxiliary lights would cause the heated grips relay to toggle - something it shouldn't be doing.
I took it to Bulldog Twyford who were able to diagnose the problem as being supplied with the wrong relay. The one supplied has a built-in diode whereas the one that works doesn't. Triumph have been notified and will be updating their stock shortly.
