Question TBird alarm?

Anybody installed an alarm on their TBird yet? I saved the Talon T-3300 alarm from my previous bike. The plug for the alarm under the right side cover of the TBird looks the same as the one on the America? Anybody else gone down the alarm installation path yet on a new Bird?

TBH you could make it fit by moving the wires around but without knowing which ones go where your in the dark

Alarm wiring for TBird...

Different alarm wiring set-up from the speedmaster/america? Is this correct The connecting port looks identical.... The bridge wire loops are even in the exact same places....

So what's it like?
Is it a good solid piece of hardware - I mean - is it a REAL alarm or just a mickey mouse thingy?

The reason I ask - my missus would like to buy it me for my Birthday/Christmas present, but I'm not sure I would rather her pay toward the chrome front forks...

Leave the pork pies for now - get the sausage rolls while they're hot!

Yes its seems well made, I say "seems" cos you cant actually see to much of it ;-) its tucked well away, I am still getting used to it, cos I keep forgetting the bloody thing is on, jump on the bike and off it sounds, very loudly !!, it has a "winter" mode, so you can turn it "off" consumes very little current when in this mode, and you can just disarm the movement detector, handy when filling up or cleaning, I reckon its a good bit of kit, keeps the cost of insurance down....so yes its a "Real" alarm..should be for £250 odd ..another interesting thing is that when you alarm using the alarm device thingy, it does not sound a "cheep cheep" noise, apparently that is now against EU directives that alarms do not "cheep cheep" , tho when it self alarms it lets you know its doing so, fricken stupid EU tripe !!

So - if you don't manually activate the alarm, it arms itself automatically? For example - you get of the bike in town and walk away. X minutes later the bike 'chirp, chirp's to itself as it arms the alarm!?
Cool.

And knocking sets the alarm off? What sort of knock/movement - small bump or sit-on-it? And when it goes off is it like, non stop until you deactivate it, or just 10 seconds sort of thing?
Besides being LOUD - does it also immobilize the engine?

That's a good thing regarding the deactivating the movement detectors - especially when shipping your bike via rail or ferry crossings.

And regarding the insurance issue - that's good! I'll have to ask my insurance provider if there is something like that for me - although he'll probably spit back at me saying "zee bikes in Shwizzerland DONT be sztolen! NEIN - itz no cheeper, now go-a-vay!"

Sorry to ask soooo much - It's just I can't find any detailed information about it!
But you say it's a 'Datatool system 4' alarm?
I'll go and Google it....
