BB install question

In thinking about the pending BB install I wondered if I would have another break in period to deal with after the install. Certainly much of the internals will be the same, but with new pistons, sleeves and cam is there enough new bits that I'll be back to dealing with a break in period as well as an early oil change?

Any thoughts?

Absolutely. And i'm sure the dealer will tell you to do the 500 mile service, tho this time it only needs to be oil change so you can do that yourself. breakin is mainly to seat the rings and since the liners pistons and rings are all new, breakin is just as crucial.

Well, I thought as much. Makes sense of course, just hadn't really put it on my radar up to now.

After having he BB kit installed in my Meanstreak the manufacture "Thunder MFG" recommended riding it like normal. The kit included pistons and cams like the Triumph kit. Myself, once installed I will take it easy for about 100 miles then flog on it to make sure the rings are sealed. All other parts of the engine will be broke-in the only thing to wear in after the BB kit install is the piston rings, cam lobes and journals, first 100 miles will take care of the cams. However, the Mfg and the dealer do recommended changing the oil after 500 miles of operation.
