Question Oil Drain Plug??

Anybody got a pic of the location of the TBird oil drain plug? Is it the allen plug that I see on the left, mid side of the pan? If so, what the heck is the torque amount for that? Till it feels tight, huh?

It's on the left side(kick stand side) of the oil pan. It uses an allen wrench. Re-torque to 18 ft. lbs.

There is a section on oil change in the owners manual that shows it.

Thought that was it I was seeing on that side of the pan...wasn't sure on the torque setting though. Is there any kind of compression washer or seal that needs replaced when it goes back in?

On this bike i don't think you need a new washer. Why? Look at the plug when you take it out. Theres a flange on the bolt that keeps it from really crushing the washer and becoming dished. I never changed the one on my speedy after 30k miles and about 7 or 8 oil changes, and that one WAS the type of bolt that would surely need it, or at least theoretically. But it never leaked a drop. But i wouldn't recommend it on that bike even tho i did it that way with no leakage. On the Tbird tho i wouldn't worry about it.

Not sure what size allen it is. I just get out my set and try different sizes until I get the right one.

Yeah don't have ones that large so I need to go out and buy one specific, just don't know what size to buy...
