for you upcoming T`bird owners
Just a couple of little "faults" I came accross on my T`bird, no set screws fitted to hold down the stock seat, they were in a plastic bag with the C wrench, and no slack at the clutch lever,
had to adjust the cable down by the Rad on the left side to gain adjustment at the lever, not problems but things to look out for ..its a good idea to go over your newly delivered Birds out there, the T`bird variety of course LOL....
Regards

On mine the 2 screws that lock the front axl down were completely loose ! Granted, the axl itself is tightened, but these insure it doesn't loosen up because as you know that would NOT be good ! yeah, all new bikes should be gone over. problem with this one tho is theres no manual yet available so no torque settings.

both of these are dealers issues as the bike is shipped with the front wheel removed, man thats what you pay your money for the PDI, i know the car industry was bad for this but on a bike this sh*t should not be happening, its could kill some one, as Dazco had stated go over with a very fine to tooth comb as i will be next week, and if you do find anything i would demand your money back for the inspection.

Yep, let you dealer no about it. They usually use beginning mechanics or hire cheap help to uncrate and pdi the units. A lot of time you complain about what you find (especially if a safetey issue) you can get them to give some discounts towards service or parts.

Actually my dealers mech is an older guy with experience and their service dept has a rep even here at rat as being the best service dept in the so cal area. But no matter how good ther are in their knowledge, these are symptoms of not concentrating on thier work. The best mech and the worse can both make mistakes like this equally as frequently, and thats one reason i will do most of the work myself. I don't trust ANY dealer. I told them what i thought about it too. I told them i don't think there is any excuse for this sort of thing and that it should NEVER ever happen and that if need be they should have a system where crucial bolts should be second checked by a second person once the mech is done.
