Bags

Just got my bags however, no instructions for the mounting kit. First parts pretty obvious/simple but there are a couple of parts I haven't figured out yet. Anyone have the bags?

Belay that. found them on: triumphinstructions.com - apparently they are environmentally friendly.

these were pre-ordered by the dealer for the demo bike. Not sure if that makes a difference. they look ok to me. Easy to fit, approx. 30 minutes once you have sorted all the parts. Couple of extra parts (sleeves) included. About 10 minutes to remove bags and restore to original.

That's interesting. Mine are on my bike right now. Got them in a couple weeks ago and on over the weekend.

I suspect that some were delivered before they determined that there is an issue.

In reality, you have the best of both worlds: you have your bags now and if they do loose their shape, you can exchange them for the re-worked models.

Mine got wet and now the top has dimples and the buckles tarnished.

Who know more about the re-making of the bags, I want in......

I talked to customer service about the bags and was told that Triumph believes the bags as first delivered will not hold their shape over the long run. They said the problem looked to be similar to the problem they had with the first set of Rocket III bags, but I didn't ask for anymore deatils.

So what are some good alternatives to the factory bags? I kinda like those ghost brackets. Does Edge Leather make some bags that will fit the Bird? You can't even order the Triumph bags at the moment with no word on when they will be available again.
