De-Cat
was in my local dealer yesterday drooling over the demo moaning when is mine coming when i had a good look underneath, i noticed how easy a cat bypass would be on this bike, you are only going to need a few inches of bent pipe and that bad boy is gone, i wonder how long before someone get it on a power commander with a bypass and see what it can really do

Been anxious about that myself. The R3 guys claim thiers gain 18 HP with bypass ! If ours gain a similar amount in relation to engine size, we could get 12 HP, and with pipes and K&N filter more than the BB kit ! My dealer, who is not your typical triumph dealer in that he builds super high HP triumphs and develops performance parts for them says he\'s going to develp a set of short pipes for the Tbird AND a cat bypass, both the physical bypass itself and develop the tune for it. Needless to say this excites me beyond words. I will of course post about it the day he\'s done it.

No one is going to have anything for a while. It seems to have taken a year before the EFI bonnies started seeing custom maps starting to happen. I imagine my dealer will do it before anyone, or at least close. And you of course know i'll be racing towards my keyboard the second i hear anything.

Thanks for that, thats awesome ! Hopefully things will start moving quickly. I hope to see a lot of tunes to improve the bike even further as i saw with the rocket. They came up with tunes that would improve performance a lot w/o even having done any physical mods. AFAIK stock EFI mapping can usually be improved considerably because it's mapped with EPA regs and other things in mind that are done at the cost of performance. I think there is no arguing the fact that an engine's performance today is sacrificed to a huge degree because of things like that. Back in the day you could get the same performance out of a 750 that today would probably require a 1200 to match. I can imagine what the Tbird would be like w/o all that BS.

Well, I've got one preordered, so we'll see how that works out. Now, only two things left... figuring out pipes, and how to launder the money so my wife doesn't kill me. hmmmm

Haven't paid yet but as I recall it was $329.00
His take was that he didn't feel that the Triumph map would be enough for the bb kit and pipes. Now, that could of been a bunch of sales bs, but it would certainly help when it comes to further modding.

How does he know that? Unless he's taken delivery on the BB kit already, according to my dealer he can't know anything about that map. Or maybe he's just assuming.
I need to get a Power commander, but my problem is i don't have a laptop. I may be able to get a cheap old one free from work, but unless i do that means a PC will cost me $329 plus the cost of a laptop which will likely be that much again for a old used one.
