Engine Mgt Light ON

Anyone having any problems with their engine? Engine light came on Saturday afternoon and would not stay running at idle. Every stop sign and redlight meant I had to stay on the throttle just to keep it running. It also started backfiring when I let off the throttle.
I have also had a few occasions (both cold and hot) that it didnt want to start.
Have to call and get it in for the 500 mile check up, really hoping this is something simple and not the beginning of an issue that will last as long as I have the bike

There are NEVER issues with Triumphs - they are simply the 'character' of the individual bike!

On a more serious note *touches a wooden pencil* I do hope it's nothing worrying for you.

I don't know, maybe a computer issue with the fueling. Just get it to the dealer asap. Sorry to hear that but i'm sure they will work it out for you.

I second that. Don't take any chances. Let the dealer worry about it...

It's already there, still waiting to hear what's up. Of course they do not have any of the mapping software yet cause Triumph has been "holding out" on them so it may be awhile until this is all resolved

When I left to take the bike over and saw my mileage was at 666 it occurred to me that this may be a long drawn out ordeal.

I'm sure there was a '.3' in there somewhere - so it wouldn't have been a true '666'!

Think positive!
There's a good reason it's in there right now!

Just got the call, they had to reset the MAP Sensor. Attributed it to part of the break-in period. Tech seems to think I won't have any other issues with it but "hey it's under warranty" which doesn't help me out on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon 200 miles from home.

Guess I was looking for the impossible from them, at least that is the feeling I got, just wanted some assurance that they fixed it and it wont happen again.

Well at least I had my 500 mile $154.00 breakin check up and oil change

Good news that it wasn't something more serious. Maybe you can demand they *replace* the MAP sensor if it goes whacky again.
