Managed to test ride one!

There is 1 - and I repeat ONE Thunderbird in Switzerland as of yesterday morning - and that is at Moto91 in Höri, Zürich!

I'm sure there'll be more in the next days/weeks to come for demo purposes.

But the fact is the Thunderbird wont be available for sale until September 2009 due to the fact that Switzerland will ONLY supply the ABS version!

But the one I could test ride was a non-ABS and still, it was sexy enough for me to place an order!

Here's the pics I took:

I like the idea of white walls... Black forks would add contrast too!
And what about a bit off a Speed Triple Twin head lights?

Hope you guys don't mind Thatch & Engage - but I've tried some modifications with your original pictures...

Headed up to Sharpsburg, MD today to get some miles on her toward break-in and to see my parents (they have a house on the Antietam Battlefield). My dad was out golfing, but I had some coffee with my mom and toured around the battlefield.

Some great rolling hills and sweeping curves on the way there and certainly in the park. I had a great ride today, and getting more confident in the turns and twisting it out a bit on slabs. Yesterday it was, "Holy $hit!, I'm going 55 mph, this is a bit intimidating" and today is was, "Ooppps, I'd better slow down a bit so I don't get a ticket".

I did have one noob incident, and I'm telling on myself here.... When I got to Harpers Ferry, I noticed that an orange indicator had come on in my display. Because I don't have prescription sunglasses and can't read without my reading glasses, I couldn't tell which indicator had come on. Since I've only had the bike a day, I haven't memorized the location of the indicators on the display. I thought it might have been the ABS indicator, but wasn't sure. So, instead of heading to Sharpsburg, I turned right to head toward Frederick and my dealer to have it checked out. As I rode along, I began to worry that it might be the low oil pressure indicator and pulled into a shopping center that has a garage and a drug store. I thought I'd go into the drug store and buy some of those cheap reading glasses to get some clarity to the situation. As I pulled into the parking spot, I saw an elderly lady and thought I'd ask her to tell me what the indicator lamp said .... she glared at me over her glasses with a knowing smirk and said, "it says "GAS" ...... (let the heckling begin ... )

Speedy,

Can you put a couple of silver strips on the tank and fender so I can see what to do with mine. I like a 3 inch strip in the middle, flanked by two 1/4 inch on the outsides......
:D
Actually that's almost the same colour scheme as what I'll be doing - except in white for me!

So here - OK Thatch - I hope you don't mind, but I photoshopped two of your pictures!

I'm just checking out what a twin headlamp set-up would look like!
Plus:
- Shorter BC Exhaust
- Birdys Paint Scheme

What's missing is:
- Twin T Bars
- Tear-Drop mirrors
- Rear Fender Chrome Bib

Constructive feedbacks welcome....

triumph visits the Latin Cruisers car show

Had some spare time yesterday so I took the Triumphs down to the Latin cruisers car show in Cheltenham PA

Was a wonderful time talking about Triumphs and the bikes people used to ride. The one guy was 72 and is still going strong. Says he is riding till he is not comfortable on two wheels. He told some some really great stories that I could have listened to all day.

The 2010 Bird received a lot of attention.

What a good day.
