Thunderbird on Trail Ridge Road

My Thunderbird up on Trail Ridge Road... the highest continuous highway in the United States. Also known as Trail Ridge Road/Beaver Meadow National Scenic Byway, it traverses Rocky Mountain National Park from Estes Park, Colorado in the east to Grand Lake, Colorado in the west. It crosses the Continental Divide at Milner Pass (elev. 10,758 ft/3,279 m) and reaches a maximum elevation of 12,183 ft (3,713 m), near Fall River Pass (elev. 11,796 ft/3,595 m). Near the highest point on the road is another pass, Iceberg Pass (elev. 11,827 ft/3,604 m).

Trail Ridge Road is closed during the winter, and often remains closed until late spring or early summer depending on the snowpack.

This photo was taken around 2:15pm on October 5th, 2010. It was about 45 degrees Fahrenheit at the time.

Last weekend in the rain

Rode up to Newcastle and Maitland for the BSA National Rally at the old Maitland Jail... Unfortunately it rained almost all the way....about 500 k's. First stop saturday morning was Catherine Hill Bay, NSW. Just about my most favourite part of the world..:)

The sea wharf is no longer in use, but was used by coal ships to load coal to be taken up to Newcastle. Very historic place..... And a great little Aussie pub...;)

Now I have to clean it up back to its "new" appearance:eek:

Can u believe over 14 weeks, off the road....:mad:

They say it was "waiting" for a new primary cover... I can't believe it takes that long..... CRIKEYS... I reckon u could order one from England and it wouldn't take that long....:p

Anyway... finally got out for a great ride to Sofala and Bathurst...

Ride to Tarana Pub and Oberon

Stripped her down for that "solo' sporty" look..... Thats one of my favourite things about this bike.... (Although it costs a bit....) I can change the look for different rides.....

And the country people build special shelters for Thunderbirds, so u can cool the speedo down before travelling on :p

Rented T-Bird in Hawaii

Hi all! I live in Honolulu and ride a 08 Bonneville. There is one rental outfit here that rents some H-D and, surprisingly, Triumph motorcycles. He's got a couple of Bonnevilles and, wait for it, a 2010 Thunderbird! Now, the local Triumph dealer on Oahu won't carry the T-bird, so, this guy had one shipped in from California.

Anyway, I rented it for a day and snapped some pics of, possibly, the only Thunderbird in Hawaii.

I picked up mine today.

Here she is at 1 1/2 miles old

and later at 140 miles old

I had planned to take more pictures but I was enjoying myself too much, I forgot.

Love the bike. Still getting used to the weight and balance at slow speeds. And I was hesitant pushing through traffic. But on the bendies. :Happy
