Headlight upgrade for the Tbird

Okay I looked over previous topics and did not find anything on headlight upgrades. The one knock I have for my 12 Tbird is the headlight. The size and the anemic bulb in it. I put a PIAA super bright bulb in and it's better but I want something more akin to a Daymaker LED type. I do not like the small round headlight. I like the look of the big round lights on the Thrux and Bonnie much better.

Has anyone done any type of headlight conversion? I've looked at the HID plug in types but that does not solve the small headlight issue..... yes I have headlight envy ? Billy

I've done the Day Maker LED upgrade. I initially did the PIAA bulb too.. and it was better than the stock bulb.. but this year I decided to try a LED and chose one on Amazon. It had good reviews. It fits perfectly and it works amazingly. Way better than the PIAA. The only slight mod I had to do is to bend a small metal tab out of the way inside the headlight ring. It was easy and I did it with my fingers. It can easily be bent back if you ever wanna put it back to a regular bulb again.

Here's a link to the bulb I bought..

I used the same ones for my Storm in black. Let me tell you when both of them are on you definitely do not need to worry about seeing the road or being seen. These things are bright and very nice. Was a very quick swap out too. I've been very pleased with them.

Billy I'm with you on the small headlight. I'd like to put a 7" one on my '10 SE. I've found some on J&P Cycles site. Similar mount type to stock.

I've heard that some people swap out the smaller T-bird light for the light from an America.

Thanks for the information guys. I will look at the daymaker and also look at the light from the America. What I want is one of those Baja 1000 enduro headlights! The one off the Thrux would be good too but I don't think any cross breeding is allowed.

Woo Hoo!! I put in that light Joey suggested. I think my light problem is solved. Took ten minutes to put it in including vertical adjustment of the beam!! Thanks Joey.

I have the same one. Works well being seen, as I now have less incidences of people attempting to pull out in front of me.
