Hello, I just bought a 2011 Thunderbird Storm. I'm happy to have found this site. I've been browsing the forums for a few days. I registered here as soon as I got the bike registered an licensed.

2014 Thunderbird LT owner. Storm and LT share same great frame and twin. What a great motor and gearbox. Such fun and rides like a smaller bike. Never feels short of breath or struggling to pull. Refined power. Just love it. You will never regret getting a Thunderbird. Post a picture or your ride.

That is a sweet looking bike.

Also, jealous of your roads, not much in the way of curves around Dallas.

We are practically neighbors, I live in Pleasant Grove. I'll keep an eye out for you I haven't seen one other Thunderbird since getting my 2015 Thunderbird LT two weeks ago today - now if that isn't exclusivity :)

I've only got 600 miles on mine, but I'm heading down to Moab with some friends tomorrow, which I am eagerly looking forward too :) A chance to get on the open road and see what the TBird can do.

@redhawk have a great ride to Moab! That will be fun. Careful on Highway 6 though.
I've ridden to work every day since I got the bike. My office is at the top of Suncrest in Draper. The road up the mountain is a pretty ride. I keep finding longer ways home too. :)

That's a fun road, but they are doing roadworks on the backside so it's only one lane each each way, it used to be a popular "shortcut" for me when heading to Sandy Draper and North of me in general if I'm not in a hurry. much more fun than riding the freeway and a great view with lots of corners.

I will definitely be careful on highway 6, it's not one of my favorite roads when there's a lot of traffic.

Do any of you guys have thought about this: I exited the freeway today on my way to work and my storm stalled. It started right back up but anytime it's at idle it stalls now. If i keep RPM at 1000 it seems fine. It rides ok as far as I can tell. I've got an appointment at for service tomorrow but though maybe one of you guys would have an idea.

Pics are gone though :(

The pics would have shown two rubber boots at the end of two hoses attached to two nipples atop the bottom of the tank. Look under the right (as if on the bike...left if standing in front of it facing it) front of the tank and see if one of those boots is hanging off or loose. There'll be a number of hoses under there, so look carefully.

EDIT: Here's a picture with one boot shown...look for both under your tank.

EDIT 2:

Here's the famous original shot:

Thanks!

Thanks RC65,

So the tubes didn't look loose or disconnected. I pushed on them, not sure if they got more secure. The bike idles now. I'm not sure if me fiddling with it did anything or if it got resolved because the bike had cooled off.

Glad that (may have?) helped. If it continues to idle roughly or not at all, it could still be a slightly loose connection between boot and nipple...some have zip tied theirs on to ensure a tight fit, others have superglued (not my rec.). Or it could be something else entirely. Good luck in tracking down the problem, and sorry to hear it happened so soon after you picked it up...that's got to be pretty frustrating.
