I had thought my bike was in neutral when I parked but I guess it slipped out of gear right before shutting off. Now I cannot get the bike into neutral to start the bike. I need some serious help here. Please tell me there is a simple solution.
thank you in advance!
i assumed you've moved the bike forward/backward a little bit. (try with the clutch engaged and disengaged)
sometimes the engine has too much pressure on the trans and moving it ever so little will allow the bike to shift.
or just put the kickstand up, pull the clutch and start it in gear.
Personally my bike in never parked in neutral. The only time it is ever in neutral is when I need my left hand to punch in the code for the garage door. I do the same thing with my standard transmission vehicles, in gear with the parking brake set. I was taught this when I was about 13 driving the farm truck and needing to park on hills.
Me too OBR... I've never understood why anyone would leave a vehicle unattended out of gear. (he was trying to get his bike out of gear to start it, ie warming it up)
That makes sense if that's what he was trying to do, but it sounded like he intentionally parked it neutral though. I don't think that's a good habit.
