My Bird is just the stock SE with the long haul touring seat. I weigh 155 lbs and the long haul seat provides a comfortable ride for me. The only thing that is different on my SE is I had the floorboards pulled and pegs put on, I am too short legged for the floorboards. I told a buddy if I had left the floorboards on the bike I would have had to tie a rope to the kick stand to get it up.

I made an Iron Butt 1000 mile ride with some friends and at one of the gas stops one of them commented that he never saw me squirm or move around on the bike and I told him I didn't need to it was a comfortable ride.

I do make a fair number of trips and then for me a day ride will usually be about 300+ miles. I just really enjoy riding the Bird.

Really has nothing to do the OP's question, but this thread about mileage seems as good a reason as any to finally show off this (crappy cell phone) pic...taken when I picked up my bike from the dealer and the bike had zero miles. I've had a number of used bikes before this one, but this was my first brand-new bike. That it was a Thunderbird, a bike I lusted after for two years and has only gone on to affirm every positive feeling I had about it, is icing on the cake.
