Matte Black Strom

My Storm has the matte black finish on it... So my question is; being a matte black, what's the BEST way to clean it without ruining the paint finish? What happens if I get a scratch, mark, etc... Can it be buffed out?
Thank guys

I believe u have special 'polishes' for frozen or Matt finish. Am sure Harley has something since almost half of their models are Matt or denim finish.

I have the matte also and like the look, just tend to mix a little dishwash detergent and water and clean it off, I think taking care to avoid scratching if possible just goes with the territory here

and perhaps polish sort of defeats the purpose of having matte in the first place

You cant buff out a scratch on matte. The big automotive finish companies offer special cleaners and waxes if you will, for matte finishes that will keep them looking matte and protected.

Just dont scratch it....

If you do cut and duff it, it will become a semi/satin type of look.

I went with the gloss finish on the Storm and as other threads have stated, the paint is as weak as piss. Where my jeans have rubbed the side of the tank there are noticable fine scratches. Am seriously considering getting her resprayed with tougher and better quality paint when I can get the coin together. Was thinking of spraying her the same colour as a can of Bunderberg Dark and Stormy, which is kind of fitting I reckon.
