Actually, today there was an amicable and positive conclusion to the matter.

Take a black tie wrap and insert it thru one of the slots in the pegs on the back side of the cover and around a frame tube. Now it won't get lost if it does come off.

Blindaussie, I just had a look again at the triumph site again. We are being ripped off so bad by triumph for parts. Au$ is stronger than us$ and yet they still want us to pay 30 to 50% more than our US brothers. Roll on the development of more after market for the Tbird!
Triumph if your reading "stop stealing from us Aussies", our only crime is loving our Tbirds!!!

Mate I know it. Most of the gear I have on my bird I bought from North County Yamaha in the USA. Great service and communication and half the price even with UPS direct to my door. The trouble here, at least in Victoria is that the importer ( Peter Stephens) is pretty much the only game in town and has the franchise for almost every make in town so they name their price. They haven't figured out that a lot of us can actually use a computer and buy stuff from overseas..
You just need to look at the basic price difference between the states and here....about $8k give or take, to know that something stinks to high heaven.
Cheers
Blindaussie

G'day
I have had the same problem importing out of the USA. I have a corbin seat on my sprint. It needs recovering, They want over $600.00 Australian dollars, So I looked up the corbin site in the US and a complete new seat is $245.00 US dollars, But they won't sell to me direct or even reply to my emails, only to say use the local agent. Guess what he wants $ 460.00 plus postage. For items under $1000.00 Australian dollars we have not VAT or GST or customs duties etc. They know they have it over us and hit us hard.

My missus had the same sort of issue a couple of years back when she tried to buy a Kindle eReader from Amazon, they wouldn't ship to an Aussie address. She used one of the many site online that supply you with a United States postal address. When you buy the product you use the supplied address as the shipping address, the product is then shipped on from that address to you. Sorry I cannot remember the exact mob we used but we were very happy with them. I can't guarantee that they are all honest though. If you type something like "us address for online purchases" into your search engine you should get a number of options. Hope this helps you with your problem.

In reply to BigGuy 82's post on page one. How dare you complain about my mother, She has been hand painting Royal Dolton periwinkles for years and is very well thought of in the candles light supper brigade. Even has the personal endorsement of Mrs Bucket pronounced Bouquet.
She only earns One Million pounds a month hand painting those side covers and she needs all the money she can get, as her son has a incurable and very bad addiction to Triumph motorcycles.

Moonshinerunner, maybe one of our US brothers would act as a postbox for you for Corbin.?
Another alternative is look up who is a US dealer for them and see f you can buy from them.
There has to be a better way!!!

That is a great idea. I never even thought of trying that. I will give a US dealer a try, I will get back with how I got on.
