Opinions on Triumph Accessories for t-bird

So I just bought my new T-bird.. and I got it during a Triumph promotion in which they were offering $1100 in added accessories. I'm still waiting for the accessories to get delivered to me direct from Triumph.. and my dealer will install them for free during the first service.

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the following accessories. Should I install them.. or sell them off? Are they worth having?

Here's what I have coming:

* Quick Release backrest and luggage rack.
* Engine Dresser Bars and highway pegs.
* Oval Mirrors.

I already had a set of the teardrop mirrors.. so I'll likely just sell off the oval mirrors.. unless I like them better.. in which case I'll sell off the teardrop mirrors instead.

Anyway.. what are your thoughts on these accessories? How do they look and function? are they worth having?

I installed them all myself, except for the highway pegs, which I feel look too cluttered for how little I'd use them. I'm. It a wrench, but everything was pretty easy to install. My dealer would have charged me if I had them do it, so I printed the directions from the Triumph site and had at it myself.

The quality of all the pieces seems to be very good. Parts feel solidly built and the finish looks great. The backrest/luggage rack look a little bulbous in pictures, but in real life they don't look bad at all. And my wife loves the backrest. The only thing I noticed is that the stock passenger seat looks a little lost next to that huge backrest pad, but not horribly so. The dresser bars and mirrors also look nice. I'm happy with them.

I worked the installation as part if the deal when I bought the bike.. otherwise I'd just do it myself. The parts are getting shipped directly to my dealer.. and they'll install during the first service in a few weeks.

I'll prob leave the backrest and luggage rack off the bike since its a quick release. I'll only use it when my girl rides with me.

I'm up in the air about the dresser bars. I like the stock look. But I think I'll give them a try. Hopefully I'll like the look. If I end up not liking the pegs.. I'll just remove them.

I'm curious to see the mirrors. Are they the ones with the drilled stems? The teardrop mirrors are pretty nice.. so I'm not sure I'll need them.

I too got the promo pack. Had it installed during the first service last week, but they were unable to put on the mirrors because they didn't have the spacers. My wife loves the backrest and the highway bars add some nice chrome( i wasn't sure if i wanted them at first but they are definetly growing on me!)

One issue....they took off the stock horn and replaced it with one that sounds like it belongs on a moped! Anyone else have this issue. When i bring it back this week for the mirrors,as well as ttbars and grips, i will see if they canput it back on. I assume it is a space issue with the bars on?

The dresser bars kit comes with a replacement horn because they won't fit with the stock horn. Someone here in another thread said they put the stock horn on the replacement's bracket without too much fuss and everything fit nicely.

I'd keep the dresser bars. I think you'll like them

I got the accessory package with mine as well. The sissybar/backrest doesn't look as bad as photos would suggest, but I do leave mine off unless I have a passenger, which isn't often...gotta love that quick-release option.

So, I had the quick-release sissybar/pad/luggage-rack put on, as well as the crash/engine/dresser bars. I did not put on the highways pegs nor the oval mirrors. I knew I wouldn't be using the pegs much at all, and the pics I've seen of them on just adds too much touring bulk to the sporty look of the TBird, and I like the look of the stock mirrors (which kind of echo the shape of the tank badge) more than the oval ones, though I do suspect the oval ones provide slightly better visibility. I still have both the pegs and mirrors in the box...I doubt they'll ever see the light of day.

R.e. the horn (KBattle): Yes, they replace the stock with the replacement horn because of space/fitting issues. I have see pics where the stock horn is left on, so I know it's possible to do so...but the bracket has to be bent to make it fit, and the pics I've seen have the horn jutting outward at an unslightly 45-degree angle. Aesthetically, the replacement looks much nicer (IMO), but I certainly agree that the sound is far less authoritative.

I had the teardrop mirrors on my Speedy. I kept them and installed them on my new t-bird. It also needed spacers. However, a trip to the local hardware store and $2.00 worth of stainless washers.. and it works nicely!!!

By the way.. how long did it take for your accessory parts to arrive after you purchased your bike? I gotMIT bike 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting..
