Well the post was not B.S. a week after I got the bike back the ignition switch broke and I could not turn it off. I had to unhook battery and my dealer completely ignored me. Life cycle in Kalamazoo Michigan sucks! I called triumph Detroit and they fixed the ignition. I managed to make it the rest of the summer with no more issues. Now please let this thread DIE. I get it triumph is the best, dogs are cool, Harley's and victorys suck just like life cycle does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exclamation point

Its sort of like me owning my 1050 Tiger and someone coming along and saying they hate their Tiger and are going to buy a BMW GS. Ooookay by me. I can see reasons you might do that, even reasons I might do that under the right circumstances. Guess I'm just not invested enough in my choice of bikes to let it get me all tuned up as people seem to do here. But I do enjoy the entertainment.

Actually, I don't care what anyone rides and I nearly bought a Harley. I also don't care if someone is dissatisfied with their ride. It's their money and their opinion. However, I also want people to know that the Thunderbird is a first class ride and that most of us are satisfied, especially if I feel some of the complaints are exaggerated. If you don't think non-T'Bird owners read this thing, just look at the number of Harley guys and potential buyers we see here. I'm very "invested" in my 'Bird ... I spent a lot on it. If I thought it was a "dog with fleas", you can bet the world would know.
Also, to those who wish to close the thread, it doesn't matter to me but I don't see why it should be. Not my call one way or the other.

These threads and some forums are for the ''cycle-hypochondriacs", gives people with too much time on their hands something to worry about. There is nothing wrong with HD's, if there was a serious issue with them their wouldn't be a trillion of them on the road everyday. I like to look at them, I think they have great fit and finish and some of the best accessories you can buy. I'm always trying to figure out how I can adapt some of them to my Bird. Personally I've just never wanted to own an HD, probably because everybody else already does. I like the Victory X-Country a lot, couldn't bring myself to spend the extra money on one over the Bird SE I got cheap. When I get my fairing in a few weeks I'm going to add some HD features to it 'cause nobody knows more about fairing stuff than HD. I've had zero problems with my Bird SE, it's never been back to the dealer since the day I bought it (I do all my own maint). Which may be part of some people's problems with their Birds, their are some unscrupulous dealers and independent shops out there that will do what ever to keep business flowing in times like these. People should take these threads and many others with a grain of salt, people like to complain and defend their own decisions and of course embellish to make points. These forums are entertainment for me, I like to stir a little from time to time just for the fun of it. I have learned a couple of tricks from a couple of guys on the forums and of course guys like mat are priceless with their relevant talents. If a person likes HD's and can afford one, then they should buy it. Nothing worse than buying something you didn't want in the first place and have to live with it.

Not Much To Complain About
Probably one of the reasons there are not more posts on here is that there just are not many problems with Bird to complain about. I also read the Rocket section and not much to complain about there either. Just started reading the Trophy SE section and don't think there will be many issues there either. Maybe we should start talking about Triumph events that maybe taking place in our respective parts of the countries. Like to hear more about them. Of course, the questions and answers are the best. I learn a lot from those.

I agree. However, I don't like when someone goes off on a rant against our bikes. I guess we could just let them babble on, but I prefer to point out what a great bike the 'Bird is as an opposing point of view. That's a nice way of saying that if I think someone is BSing, I'm likely to mention it.
For example, when someone says that repairs are costing them "a buttload of money" on a bike that's under warranty, I tend to think there's a lot of exaggeration going on.
I'm not sure there's a lot of "trashing" HD going on in this thread, at least not from me. I even provided the name and address of the Triumph USA CEO so the poster could express his complaints to him. Others also made valuable suggestions on resolution.

Even if there is, so what? If someone goes to the other bike's forum and starts with that, THEN theres a problem. You don't do that. This is our forum. I don't go to harley forums and talk $hite about thier machines. Those who do that kind of thing are the real asshats. I'm not naming names, but.....

If there's something worse than being an ass, it's the hat the ass wears.
