Picked up my TBird yesterday :D:D:D

Gotta say, amazing bike really! One thing though, is the english manual available for download somewhere? Link anyone? Thing is, finnish manual is not available atm, so they gave me swedish one instead. Does not help me much :D

Back to the bike. BB version feels lot stronger, that's for sure! Things really start to happen when you twist the throttle - though, I was not that hard really to her.. gotta be smooth on first kilometers :)

Suspension felt a bit rough, I did not adjust anything yet. Hope it's not at lowest setting yet - few bumps on motorway really awakened me this morning

Thanks for replies! Apparently I did not search well enough for that manual... :)

I weight 190~ pounds myself.. don't get me wrong, I really like the suspension, it just needs that tiny bit of adjustment me thinks :D
Will see about that today!

It seems that factory settings are at 1, so it does not get any softer than that. Well, gaining weight should not be that hard, now that's a way to adjust it I guess :D

It's not that bad a feature though, I like more rigid suspension generally speaking. I guess it takes a while to adjust yourself to a new bike anyhow, so..

Which I was doing last weekend (not a surprise really). I officially named my bike as Stormbringer. It was really fun blazing through thunder and hailstorm. How did the AC/DC lyrics go.. THUNDER! Now I just need to make time to clean up the dirt!

Stormbringer

If you are going to name her Stormbringer, Deep Purple wrote the song for her.

Comin' out of nowhere
Drivin' like rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way

Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed

Rainbow shaker
On a stallion twister
Bareback rider
On the eye of the sky
Stormbringer coming down
Meaning to stay
Thunder and lightning
Heading your way

Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed

Coming out of nowhere
Drivin' like a-rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way

Very nice lyrics! I like some of Purples production, though this is not familiar (yet) for me.. gotta check it out.

I got sissy-bar for the lady, and we have put now bit over 1000km on her two-up. She was totally blasted by the bike as well! And now she wants to get along all the time :D

Very nice behavior two-up, brakes are rather good still, and you barely notice passenger handlingwise. She was pleased enough with the stock passenger seat too... though, I bet opinions vary on that.

Hi Havok; you'll love it. They get better with more kms :D:D.

I have the sissy bar for my wife too but I also got the rider one for me and to me anyway, it seems to transform the bike. I don't know why but it seems lighter and more responsive. Maybe because I sit more upright, more like my old dirt bike days and maybe it is because with my back resting more "in" the bike (and I know that sounds strange) the bike seems to move more naturally with me. Not that I was dissapointed with the handling anyway.

Never mind it might just be me - don't really care - but ...it does feel that bit more responsive.

Engage.....too funny!

havok,

I have an English manual and a Factory Service Repair Manual. I am inclined to just send it to you (the owners manual) but the postage from Philadelphia, PA USA to Finland might be crazy expensive.

I dont support copywrite infringment (and can't prove that this is what he does) but there is a guy in Brooklyn, New York that makes VERY professionally bound knock-offs of the Triumph Thunderbird 1600 OEM Service/Repair manual. He has a factory manual for almost everything made. He is a Power Seller on eBay and goes by the name "Manual-Wizard". He gaurantees his work and has great feedback. He must own a very good commercial printer and binding machine.

Mine is brand new and I cannot confirm that I bought it from him but its the real thing and I'd sell it for $30.00 to one you guys.
