Frist Service/TOR's

Well, I finally got the bird in for her first service! A little late I might add (1500kms) This was my first service experience with my local Triumph dealer,(Sturgess Cycle in Hamilton, ON) and may I add what a wonderful experience it was. When I called to book my appt(yesterday) they said that they would squeeze me in seeing that I purchased my bird from them. They also told me that they would supply me with a loaner for the day because I was a Triumph owner. When I showed up to drop mine off, they asked me what I wanted in the Triumph line up as a loaner, so I chose to take out the Thunderbird loaner which was equipped with the TOR's. I have only heard sounds clips on the net, and when I first drove off with the bike, I first noticed that the throttle was more responsive and the sound.... well I guess that the big smile on my face when I drove off said it all!! Needless to say, when I got back to the dealer to pick mine up, I didn't want to give thiers back. LOL And yes, I did place my order for the TOR's(Long) and will be in in 2 weeks times. For all of you bird owners, I've been tossed as to what pipes to order, and by golly I am 100% positive that none of you will be dissappointed with them.

Another Happy Thunderbird Owner

My experience is that I put the TORs on at about 900 miles. There is a noticable increase in power and sound. It actually took a couple of hundred miles before the bikes were breaking in the sound element. I even complained a bit at first, but they did improve. The biggest thing is not just louder, but a deeper, more throaty growl expecially when you are rolling through the gears. At idle, you won't hear it so much. As far as the popping on the decel, just a little. In fact, I like it.My America did the same when I put the TORs on it. In short, I like the pipes and the growl, but don't expect loud.

There was a noticeable "popping" on decel and yes a deeper sound. What a difference it sounded in person. Can't wait till they arrive in another week

I'm also thinking of going the long tors route. Does anybody know if they are easy to install yourself?

I'm sure that they're not to hard to install, but included in the install by my dealer is the tune upload. So I guess kind of an added bonus....

I did the long TORs myself and felt it was not a difficult installation and I am not that mechanically inclined. Took about an hour as I was taking my time. Maybe your dealer would download the tune for no charge.

I guess I'll have to check with the dealer and see if they'll install the tune for me. I would hope so......I've dropped enough coin there.
