You don't need a power commander. The TOR map works fine.

There is no tuner available for the tbird yet. However, you don't need to retune for the exhaust. Just get the after market exhaust tune from Triumph loaded and enjoy.

You can find the thread on my exhaust mod here..

I did the big bore install 2 months after I did the pipe swap and got a good chance to look at all the internals. There was no sign of it running lean.

Well, I'm assuming you mean other than finding another dealer (which is exactly what I'd do and I'd let the local one know it). Baring that, I'd tell them that that tune is for 'after market exhaust' and you are putting on after market exhaust. If they still refuse and you don't want to go to another dealer then I would call up Triumph directly and tell them you are having trouble with a dealership.

Granted, you've got about a snowballs chance here of making any real waves, but Triumph built the bird to be an after market parts horse. The dealers themselves don't make much overhead on these bikes themselves. They are designed to make continued accessory sales. A dealer that isn't in bed with that vision might get spoken to....

or they might just ignore you, which in that case your back to finding another dealer that will do it for you. Unfortunately the lack of a tuner puts you at a bit of a disadvantage. Most folks on here had no issues at all with getting the TOR tune loaded.

As I understand it, Triumph made all the dealers buy a new tool in the last several moths to the tune of $8000 and rendered the old tool obsolute.

FWIW, I would RUN away from a dealer that refuses to give you what you want.

to install the tune on its own you should be looking at half an hour workshop rate, thats it, when you buy the Triumph pipes from a dealer they install the tune as part of it, if you were to buy your own pipes and wanted the tune installed then its a simple 15 minute job, but your always going to pay at least half an hour, you cant blame the dealer for charging if you dont get the pipes from them.

Dealer can only keep the lights on when they make a profit. Business 101, no profit .... no business. y in the world should any dealer GIVE you a tune if you did not pay for the servive time?? Yes, Triumph would support the dealer this situation.

Gime, gime, gime...... seems to have become the American way, so sad.

Well, one us us doesn't understand what's going on. It sounds to me like the dealer won't do the tune unless the pipes are bought from him (since that's what the post ACTUALLY said). No one said anything about getting a FREE tune. Of course the time would have to be paid for.

Maybe America isn't really saying gimmie. Maybe you're just not hearing correctly.
