Cool TBird Jacket

I hadn't looked at the Triumph site lately but did so yesterday. I see they are offering a free TBird jacket if you are a current America or Speedmaster owner and purchased a new Thunderbird before 1/31/10. The offer doesn't say when you had to buy it, only prior to Jan. 31st. Any chance we are due a free jacket?

I'm sure there is a catch. I left a message for Peter in customer service. Anyone get a jacket or know the details, I coincidently traded my America for the TBird.

Can't answer that, I got lucky. Ordered TB in Oct, and got it 23 Jan. Just a week to spare(offer to 31 Jan), but got the jacket the same day. It is a high quality jacket, made in Vietnam, just like my wife.

Someone at "the other place" tried this. The rules are vague, but i believe you have to have bought the Tbird AFTER this offer came out which was a couple months ago. Someone tried it and was turned down, another was accepted. I believe it's really up to the dealer to allow it. Some will and some won't if you don't qualify exactly as the rules state. If you DO qualify then it's a sure thing. But i believe you will have to have bought the speedy from the dealer you get the Tbird from and have sold the speedy and bought the bird after the promotion began. otherwise you'll have to try and just hope your dealer allows it, because it's his call.

Dealers need to send in paperwork dated in the correct period for triumph to offer to pick up some of the tab-that's right, just some. If a dealer gives you one it's for a different reason that triumph said it's ok. Most likely it came out of his pocket.

I believe this promotion started around November 1st as that's when I remember receiving the letter about the promotion from Triumph (being a current America owner). To participate in the promotion you MUST have the letter and take it to your Triumph dealer. This according to the letter I received from Triumph.

When I went to look at the Thunderbird around the end of December my dealer wasn't even aware of the promotion. But once I made the purchase of the Thunderbird all I had to do was show them the letter and they contacted Triumph for the details.

Which was that I could pick out any Triumph jacket I wanted. My dealer was even willing to order the jacket I wanted which they didn't have it stock, I did go with the T-bird jacket.

Then the dealer has to sent to Triumph a copy of the letter along with prove that the name listed on the bill of sale of the T-bird matches the registered owner of an America or Speedmaster. Triumph THEN will reimburse the dealer for the cost of the jacket.

VERY please with my new Thunderbird jacket...

And of course my Thunderbird!

My wife got a free Thunderbird Jacket in December. Santa brought it to her.

I traded my S/M in on the new T-Brid in Aug. and about a month ago I got a letter from Triumph about the Jacket. I took it to my dealer and they got me one but I don't think it was easy. The jacket is really a nice leather jacket and well worth trying to get.
