AZ, I can't recall, do you have the BB yet? I'm still breaking mine in (weather sucks right now) so I'm in no position to be picking fights right now but damn if I don't want to.
On the other forum were got to talking about power to weight ratios the catalyst being the comparative power of the Thunderbird Sport (a bike I love) with the 1600 bird. The TBS is a strong sporting bike and in comparison this information was posted. "the 1600 are about the same ratio. .12-.13 HP per pound. the 98 TBS is .16 hp/pound."
I added
"With the weight loss measures I've made on the bike and the new BB kit, not including any gains from my exhaust puts me at .15 hp/pound , not bad at all. Torque per pound is even better with my Raven putting out .16 lbs per lbs of bike and the TBS putting out .10 lbs per pound of bike."
So, at nearly even up on hp per pound and 60% greater torque by weight, the bbbird is pretty damn impressive. Certainly more than enough to put on an awfully good show.
Interestingly I did the Vrod numbers real quickly and it came out at .18 hp / pound and .13 lbs of torque per pound of bike. Also of interest, the screaming eagle kit for the vrod actually makes the bike slower. Regardless, the vrod would most likely overtake a raven in the 1/4 mile after recovering from losing the launch, but throw some curves in there where you can use more of the torque and make the vrod suffer through it's goofy ergos and poor handling and the story would be much different (riders being equal).
Have fun out there and be safe.
