You've Talked Me Into It
OK people you win. I've been reading your posts since this part of our site opened up. You all are having too much fun, and I need to join in. I started shopping this week by visiting a couple of dealers, and will buy a blue/white within a few weeks. My question to all of you: what would currently be considered a good deal, (price out the door), for a stock model with ABS?
There will be accessories added at the time of sale, and a BB in the future, so your experiences will help me out with saving cash for these extra goodies. Appreciate your input.
Marty

Welcome Marde, good choice. Are you going to keep the Bonnie as well? Great companion bike if you do.
As for the price. I can't help you there. I pre-ordered so there were no deals to be had then. I don't think they are moving much on the birds as demand is still pretty high. But, I do know some folks have gotten a bit of movement, gotten accessories thrown in and fees waived.
One comment on the BB kit. If you know you are going to do it in the future, you might well consider doing it up front. The reason being is that if you buy it at the time of purchase (and have it installed by a certified Triumph mech) the kit will be covered under the new bike 2 year parts and labor warranty, otherwise it will be a 1 year parts only warranty if installed later. That was enough to push me into getting it from the beginning. (though with a 7 month wait to actually get it).
Best of luck with your purchase and welcome aboard.

I got $500 off MSRP, but I did not negotiate down the dealer prep, so it was likely a wash. If your dealer won't budge much on MSRP, get him to knock down or eliminate dealer prep.
My dealer gave me 15% off everything for two years - accessories, clothes, oil ... everything. This has been nice and has added up to some real savings. It also keeps me coming back to them, Since I know I will get a reasonable deal, I tend not to price shop - I just get it from them or have them order it for me.

Best price here in so cal when i bought mine was about $13k out the door. It seems to vary a lot on location tho, and if you only have one triumph dealer near you it may be hard to wheel and deal because they will know they have you over a barrel. Good luck, and i assure you there will be no missing the bonnie. You won't even miss the handling, as this thing handles incredibly and feels like a much smaller bike for the most part. To say you won't be sorry is a huge understatement....good move !

Got a $1000 off of MSRP here in the midwest... But that was last August and the economy was potentially near the lowest point in the trough. Frankly, this bike is so good that I would not have hesitated at paying MSRP.....

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your input. I will be keeping the Bonnie, hence my desire to save what I can on the purchase the 'Bird. Need to be able to feed and clothe two bikes now.
I have a quote from one dealer for a two-tone blue with ABS at $13.4 "delivered". Seems to be an acceptable price. He's willing to make a non-ABS dual color by swapping the tank/fenders etc. with a black non-ABS. That would leave some dollars available for the BB kit to be installed at the time of purchase, (thanks for the idea Thatch). So a decision comes down to the relative importance of anti-lock brakes. I'll read up on the subject, and let you all know how it goes.

I see you haven't ridden the bird yet or only for a very very short demo. If you DO keep the bonnie, better get a battery tender for it.
