how long is to far ?

i know ther have been a lot of posts about the longhaul seat but none have really answered my questions. For me a short ride is 200kms ,this i do without stoping a long ride is like the one i am contemplating that is 2800km in three days . My question is on a dual longhaul seat how far can you go before having to have a break and whats the most kms you have done in one stint ?

i have gone 6 or 7 hours at a time with the stock seat with only a few stops for just long enough to drink something or get gas. The seat on this bike doesn't bother me at all. The rest of my 56 year old body gets fatigued before my ass does. It's so wide that it supports your whole butt, and i think thats the trick. The long haul may be good for some, but for me i don't need it. But if it really is easier on you i would imagine you couldn't ask for more, as good as the stock seat is.

Do to weather I have only been able to spend 500 miles on my T-bird...but the stock seat isn't much different than the mustang seat I had on my previous bike....I doubt I will even change a thing except for maybe the passenger section

I agree with Daz, I find the stock seat very comfortable. I have taken a couple of long trips without issue.

thanks

Thanks for the imput about the stock seat , though it is not really an option for me . As i was hoping to do some tripping around with a pinion and the misses would kill me or tell me where to go if i left the seat stock .

Thumbs up Longhaul seat....

I have the separate longhaul seats on my TBird and have done 13 hours with 2 breaks and a stop for lunch as my longest ride at just over the 450 mile mark for the day. Have to say that neither I nor my better half had any aches or pains from the seats. I highly recommend them!

I just got the longhaul dual seat with the riders backrest. I put it on today but it's 35* and drizzling and am not going riding. Sitting on it in the garage it seems about the same as the stock seat to me. But I have a herneated disc and the backrest seems like it will help my lower back. I'll let you know when I get out for a ride.

I used the touring seat with rider backrest for the first time yesterday. Amazingly good . Feels like a gel seat and the riders backrest is just perfect.

I had a mustang on my VN with riders backrest and the triumph one is much much better. The hardish shocks on the Bird dont feel so harsh on big bumps either.

Great seat cant recomend it enough.

Smile

I took mine on a 400 mile ride a few months back and rode about 100 miles B/4 we stopped each time and the only thing that got tired was my throttle hand because I didn’t have a throttle lock. I fix that with a throttlemeister and all is now great. I was going to get a different seat at first but after that ride I see no need.
