tbars for thunderbird

G'day there guys

Have been watching the Thunderbird forum closely especially regarding the tbar situation.

It seems most of us havent been able to see the tbars in the flesh so to speak so have included few pics from a website in nz which have them in stock.

Pics are included from various viewpoints, including riding position.

At least everyone can now know what they look like....(I happen to think they look pretty bloody good!)

Enjoy

Thanks for the pics, they look like they are still too far back for me. I may just have to modify thime and shortent the rise on them a bit to pull me more forward like I want.

Have you tried simply adjusting the stock bars forwards? Thats what i did because i too find them too far back, and it helped. I was having neck pain which with me is always a symptom of sitting up too straight. Moving them like that stopped it.

Triumph Thunderbird TT-Bars and here you see the tapered ends.

Here you see them as I was starting my bike after fitting the 1700 BB-Kit fitted my Moto91 at Höri in Switzerland.

Hope you understand.

Leave the pork pies for now - get the sausage rolls while they're hot!

G'day there Birdy,

Cheers for the links and the pics!

Do you know the diameter of those bars?

The dealers in Oz are saying 1 inch, but they haven't actually viewed that themselves as there are none whatsoever in this big brown land of ours.

I think they are going off the fact that all the cruisers to date have 1 inch bars. I was hoping they might be thicker than that myself, and its a bit hard to tell from the pics and vid.

Any info on them would be greatly appreciated....

Hi Odamus,

The TT-Bars ARE 1" at the controls / switch gear area to allow instalation of the stock gear.
Then immediately AFTER the switch housing they DO become THICKER.

I honestly don't know the diameter off the top of my head, but I'd say 1 1/4"
It's caused a small problem - I can't fit my handle bar clock on the new TT-Bars... The clock was a 40th birthday pressy too...
Ooooh well....

odamus,

Great post. Do you know how the position of these bars differs from stock? Do they put your hands further back/forward or higher/lower? (and by how much?)

Thanks.

Couldnt say with any authority Buddah.

Havent actually seen them in the flesh myself or been able to compare pics with the standard set.

On a guess I'd day they are closer to you but you might want to ring the company if your considering buying them yourself.

If you end up doing so any info you could post on them in this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

T bars

I have riden the same bike a week apart at the dealer 1st standard then with the T bars. At the time I didn't know he had fitted diffrent bars as i was testing comfort for the Mrs. When I got back the dealer asked how I liked the T bars & loud Exhaust ? I replied it felt more comfortable but I had thought it was having the Mrs sort of lean foward against me! So the verdit is GOOD, they allow you to ride with straight arms and not feel like your leaning backwards. Similar position to my 2008 Speedmaster but the pegs feel futher back ( more comfortable) and I am 6.2".
