Placed my order

Hi all

Have just traded my America in as a deposit against a new Black T'bird ABS BB.

Added a few accessories...

- Leather Panniers
- Pannier Mounting Kit
- Quick Release Sissy Bar & Longhaul Backrest Pad
- QR Roadster Screen Kit
- Screen Mounting Kit
- Longhaul Rider Seat
- Rear Dresser Bar Kit
- Front Dresser Bar Kit
- "Chrome Line" Passenger Footboard Kit
- Adjustable Passenger Footboard Hardware Kit
- Longhaul Passenger Seat
+ Accessory socket
+ High Flow Silencer Kit - Long
+ Wide Handlebars
+ Extended Cable Kit
+ Performance Air Filter
+ Alarm System
+ Fog Lamps

Asked the dealer to fit all the + items and i'll do the simple stuff myself. The big bore is factory fitted at the moment at a reduced price ;-) Now i just hope the rubbish UK weather continues as it will make the wait seem not so bad

Hi British_Steel,

Whatever you have heard about the T'Bird is all bullsh't. They are much better than that.

A few months ago I was looking to fulfil a 40 year dream and purchase a Triumph. Back in the early '70s my best mate and I used to take used Bonney's for test rides. Back then that was the closest we ever got to owning one (it seemed that the dealers always wanted an exchange of currency for the bike - didn't seem fair somehow given that we didn't have any that was acceptable) .

Things worked out that many years and quite a few bikes (none of them Triumphs) later, plus a stint (kids and mortgage) of no bikes at all and I finally started looking again.

Following the dream, I first looked at the modern classic Bonneys; still have a soft spot for the look. But I was leaning towards more of a cruiser style. Then I came across the the Speedmaster and America and almost made a big mistake. Just in time I read about the then soon to be released Thunderbirds.

So 40 years later and my mate having sucumbed to the big "C" (he rides again with me) I have finally taken delivery (three weeks ago) of my big black and chrome dream. And it is sooooo good:. Apart from a glitch in the temperature sensing electrical system (turned out to be a faulty earth connection) it is wonderful to once again be riding and the big T'Bird is magic on wheels.

I just know that when you pick yours up you too will be rapt.

Cheers, Max.

You will enjoy it. Sunday was a great day. Went on a ride with about 10 others, then I had to go to work. But the view was worth it. This bike rides great, too bad we have some rain coming in, but we need it. I will keep the America, never know when it will come in handy.
