Big Bore Kits delivered in the US

I've not heard of one hitting in the US yet and I know there are several US big bore birds in waiting here so I thought I'd let you know.... I just came back from the dealership where I got to view my kit and schedule the install starting next Tuesday morning (I might move that up depending on my wife's schedule).

Just thought I'd let you know. I hope the rest of you get your's soon.

Wow...I'm awaiting a call from my dealer.

Well, I can't be considered a guinea pig as both Mad and Birdy have their kits installed. But, so far at least I seem to be if not the first, damn near it on this side of the pond. The best I can do is be (one of) the first to have a broken in 1700. Since we are back in the 60's I should be able to put some miles on the bike and really get a feel for the 100 cc boost.

Word is 25 kits were sent to the US. I've no idea how many were ordered and if that fills those orders or not. (of course I have no idea if the 25 rumor is true either so take all this with a handful of salt) Regardless, hopefully your's will be in soon.

i believe i may have been the first to complete the install in the UK through a dealer as all the kits went out on the same day over here,i know we were the first to do it without removing the engine as Triumph told us when we spoke with them, my kit arrived on the tuesday 11:30 AM, the bike was finished by 3pm on the wednesday, although we did have teething issues due to the cam timing

got there in the end though
By the friday that week i know a load had been done, now i guess there must be over 100 on the road world wide i would have though

I'd be very surprised if that was true. (not that it really matters I suppose) but if there is any truth to the 'only 25 kits in the US' and with the US being the largest market.....

Like I said though, it doesn't really matter. As long as your mechanic hasn't done one before it's the first one as far as you and them are concerned. Your info that you posted will be going in with the bike when I drop mine off. I appreciate you taking the time to post it.

Thats a figure I would be interested in actually. What the sales are in Europe compared to the States. The two dealers near me have sold over 50 birds between them so far and they are 20 miles apart here in the Essex area. There is now a backlog of Birds until this May.

I diversify though , hope your install goes well Thatch.

That would be interesting to see. My dealer had a blue and white ABS bike for about 5 months. They just sold it this week. (I just happened to be in the shop when the new owner was taking delivery). This is only other bird than mine that they have sold. Considering there are only 5 dealers in the whole state it's been a bit slower than I expected here. Of course this is a military town and Harley goes hard for the military customer.

I not sure why some dealers move them and others don't. I'm told the Detroit dealer did not order any for their stock and had no pre-orders, while my dealer - small shop in Kalamazoo - moved at least 6.
