What did you do to your Bird today ?

Well as we have snow here in wales and its my last day off before Xmas so i decided to clean the bike top to bottom as its not going to be seeing light well into January , since the BigBore install its been plastered, between oil, coolant leaks and the trip back up on friday covering it in road salt it was time for a through clean again, Also the bike is just over 3 months old now so i wanted to see how things were looking,Chrome, aluminium ect.

Just spent best part of 4 hours Cleaning, polishing and buffing, damn those wheels are hard to clean, a lot of staining on them, even with a heavy polish could not remove some of it, i have also noticed that water has already started to get under the Lacquer on the fork legs just below the Chrome cap at the top, im a little disappointed this has started already, i had the same problem with my Speedmaster however not this soon, other than that all looking well, a few screatched on my pipes, god knows how mind nothing to major.

now i have to decide whether to pickup about these fork legs or go for the Chrome legs and wheels.

what did you do to yours ???

I'm very displeased with the chrome on the buckles and snaps of my leather bags and tank pad. They get foggy just from sitting. Anyone know of a remedy for this? I've polished and waxed them but they still get foggy. Other then that, the only thing I noticed is the polished outer portion of the fins on the cylinder. They too seem to be lossing their gleam. I just wiped them clean with WD-40 today and hope it dosn't become a problem.

My T-Bird's permanent license plate got here so I put it on.

But I didn't ride it because it was raining all day. And the only reason that stopped me was because last Wednesday evening, in the rain and dark, I gave it a thorough washing to get rid of a bunch of road salt that had been put down on our roads a week earlier.

Road salt is something new this year in this area - I don't believe it's been used the last few winters here. The freezing 2 weeks ago, then rain this last week, have all combined to keep my total mileage to a measly 230 miles so far.

gave mine a thorough clean on the weekend after fitting a few accessories (Tbird clutch cover, front caliper covers, instrument bezel). Not impressed when I tried to wipe a small white mark off the tank, only to find it's a stone chip. Was not impressed. Must have happened on my Wednesday night ride last week.

This past Monday Big Brown delivered my new HardStreet Slimbags for my TBird. This evening after work a friend and I attached them to the EasyBrackets that I installed last Sunday. It was not a slam dunk due to the bike side of the bags have various indentions. We had to drill new lower mounting holes in the brackets to get them to attach in 4 locations as recommended. The bags are not the highest quality...but then again they are not the most expensive and I think they look pretty good on the bike. I like the satin finish.

Druid this is the Roadster shield with lowers and to me it is just as good, maybe even better, than my Memphis Fats 17" on the VN900.
It is not as wide but a bit taller but not so than I can't see over the top of it just fine. At 65-70 no buffeting to speak of. I have not had it above those speeds since I just have over 250 miles on the bike. I am very please with the shield so far. I have not tried to remove it but I always do remove the Memphis whenever I washed the 900 (as well as the seat).

Roadster Screen

I find the roadster screen to be too short for me with a lot of wind buffeting at normal cruising speeds. I will probably look for an aftermarket screen in the future.
