Are they trying to Piss me off ???

From triumphs website.

The Thunderbird 1700cc big-bore kit
To celebrate the arrival of the 1700cc Thunderbird big-bore accessory upgrade, Triumph Genuine Accessories is offering a limited run of the cruiser with the kit pre-fitted at our Hinckley factory.
The big bore kit consists of new pistons, liners, camshafts, up-rated clutch springs and ‘1700’ clutch cover embellisher. Maximum power output is increased from 85bhp to 97bhp – with torque lifted from 106ft/lbs to 115ft/lbs.
The 1700cc Thunderbird big-bore accessory upgrade kit is fully homologated in all markets and existing Thunderbird customers can have the kit retro-fitted at a Triumph Dealership now.

if they had told me they would be doing a prebuilt option i would have waited.

also new limited colours, why the hell didn't the people who ordered first get the limited stuff.

I would have waited too.

<hand trembling as I pick up the phone to dail my dealer ~ ~ ~>

This is the perfect time of year here in the mid-Atlantic region for this release as it will be the perfect winter project.

I, for one, would not trade the past few months riding my TBird for getting the BB kit factory installed in December/January.

Thanks for the heads-up mad_angler, I didn't realize the BB kit has been released.

hmmmm was it not i who wondered why they did not offer it with the big bore kit installed right from the start. now read my lips, next will be the 1800 kit.
this is great.
and yes it should have been offered right form the start.

This does bother me, as the BB for me is more than just extra $, it's a major pain as i would have to go to the dealer 30 miles away, walk to the nearest rent a car, bring it back at thier nearest office to my home and walk home, walk back to pick it up a week later or whenever the bike is ready, drop it off near the dealer and walk there. And if the nearest rental place if a long ways.....well, you get the idea....major pain plus car rental costs and $2k for the BB....major pain and cost. So i would have loved the BB installed already, but being my bike is a 2010, anything like this or those custom paint jobs wouldn't happen till at least 2011. I'm a bit bummed about this. I also figure chances are they wouldn't cost as much as buying the 1600 and adding the kit since theres no $1k install charge.

thats almost as much as having the kit installed. I feel a BIT better, but still it will cost me a few hundred more with rental costs and a lot of trouble. but it's a relief to hear it's not half as much.
