This guy needs help.

So I was looking through the latest tbird search returns and stumbled onto a thread of a guy asking whether to buy the HD Dyno or the Tbird, in a HD forum. He is of course getting nothing but vacuous HD wisdom about buyin' 'Merican and there is not substitute for what ever the hell it is that Harley's deliver. I find it interesting that there isn't actually any quantifiable reasons they offer as to why the Dyno would be a better choice.

Anyway, I thought you all might like to weigh in and help the fella out.

This bit particularly amused me...

"P.S. Isn't a T-Bird a Ford car? I wouldn't ride anything called a T-bird, just sounds fUNNY"

Personally, I've always been quite disturbed by the concept of riding something called a Fat Boy...

I'm not gonna sign up there just to start a flame war, but for those of you that do with too eres some ammo.....

"Yep. Back when Triumph was a Trumpet, and not a "Jap" enfluenced, remake of a bike."

Tell them how it was triumph that the japs COPIED when they first because big players in the 60'-70's. Triumph made the parallel twin famous, and thats what most jap bikes were in the early days. Furthermore, compared to harleys back then, todays harleys are as jap as anything triumph will ever make. They both use a ton of asian sourced parts. Harley american? Yeah, maybe 70%.

"Isn't a T-Bird a Ford car? I wouldn't ride anything called a T-bird, just sounds fUNNY"

As i heard it, triumph licenced the name to ford having used it on the '53 Thunderbird before ford had one.

Furthermore, harley copied triumph back in the day...triumph had tank mounted instruments and belt drive in the early 1900's !

Or you could allow them to wallow in thier ignorance and realize that riding a harley instead of a Tbird is a far worse punishment than any of us could verbally lay on them.

Talking

This guy needs help alright!!!! He needs to see a psychiatrist regarding his wannabe itis.

This is the classic biker wanna be trying to decide if he should get the bike he likes......or buy into a "lifestyle". With one swipe of his mastercard he can have a new bike, a new identity, a bunch of specific HD clothes.......a whole new fake life. All he has to do is perfect that poser HD scowl while riding and he's in. I say let the Bro's have him. I personally am always smiling when I ride my T-Bird.....isn't that what it's about? Why spend 10's of thousands of dollars just to be part of a social club? He should join a bowling club if he wants to be social.....alot cheaper and safer too.

If the guys in involved with Hog are as wonderful as he sais......... then they won't give a rats a---s what bike he's riding.

I'm not bashing HD. I personally really like them and I almost bought one. I guess this hits home for me because I stewed over a T-bird and a Fat Boy for months. And I'm ashamed to admit that "acceptance" played a small part in my stewing. In the end I bought the bike that was right for me.......and I'm still accepted by the people who are important to me.

End of rant.

One thing about Harley riders, they are blissfully ignorant.

I suppose that comes from being an individual, just like everyone else.
